10 COVID-19 positive cases from Hailakandi undergoing treatment in Silchar, Guwahati

Ten positive COVID-19 cases are from South Assam’s Hailakandi district. 
Health authorities here disclosed that out of the 10 novel coronavirus positive cases, six are presently undergoing treatment in Silchar and three in Guwahati. One succumbed to COVID-19 infection on April 10. One COVID-19 infected youth named Jakkaria Ahmed Mazumder has been shifted from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Monacherra to Silchar Medical College and Hospital on Friday. Mazumder, a 19-year-old youth, who hails from Lalpani village under Lala Police Station, came along with 118 other passengers by train from Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. Joint Director, Health Services, Dr.Ramesh Chandra Dwivedy informed that swab samples of 54 passengers, who arrived by 07630 Bolarum-Agartala shramik special train from Hyderabad on Saturday evening, were collected at Dholeswari inbound passenger facilitation centre and they were later shifted to the quarantine centres. According to a health bulletin released on Sunday evening, 350 persons are under institutional quarantine centres and three in isolation wards. Of the 1,034 swab samples taken so far, 913 have turned out to be negative, while the results of 111 are awaited from SMC&H.
