Silchar, June 2 : Yet in another successful operation, Cachar police along with Karimganj police on Friday recovered heroin of 1.4 kg from a 407 truck, that was shipping the consignment to another state via Assam.
Police have also arrested one accused, Sahid Ahmed (33) of Puwamara, Karimganj, who was driving the vehicle.
The market value of the seized narcotics is around 10 crores, police said.
Cachar SP Numal Mahatta said that a case has been registered and is investigating the forward and backward linkages of the smuggler.
Meanwhile, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has also praised both the district police and commended their efforts.
