Assam: Unlock 1.0 guidelines out; Barber shops allowed to open maintaining ‘sanitization’

New Lockdown directives on UNLOCK 1 for Assam were released on Monday by the state government. Many activities were allowed but with strict compliance of Social distancing, hygiene, and all other protocols mandated by the Union Ministry of Health and Family welfare.  The guidelines will come into force from June 1st and will be effective till June 30th 2020, Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna informed.

Some relaxations are-

1. Religious places/ places of worship for public are allowed to open from 8th June 2020 subject to gathering of maximum 20 persons per hour.

2. Hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services allowed to open from 8th June 2020 maintaining social distancing with 50% of total capacity at time.

3. Shopping malls allowed from 8th June 2020 maintaining strict social distancing.

4. Barber shops and parlors for hair trimming purposes allowed from 1st June with strict use of masks and gloves with very frequent sanitization.

5. Film and video shooting for both government and private in open spaces and studios are allowed from 1st June.

Regarding the Night Curfew, order mentioned, movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 9 pm to 5 am throughout the state, except for essential activities.

Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years are advised to stay at home, except for essential and health purposes.

However pillion riding in two wheelers is not allowed except for ladies and children below 12 years of age.

Social/ Political/ sports/entertainment / academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other large congregation has not been allowed.

Schools, colleges, universities, coaching centres will remain closed until further orders.

The order also mentioned no activity β€œWhatsoever” will be permitted in the containment zone.
