Udharbond, Mar 21 : Murder of a thirteen-year-old child, at Udharbond has taken the locality in shock. The incident took place at Arunaband tea garden under Udharband police station on Wednesday night. The deceased Salman Sheikh, son of Sahajan Sheikh, was resident of the Arunaband Tea Garden and was studying at Arunaband ME School.
It was learnt that, Salman went missing from his home on Wednesday evening and was not traceable in the locality. The family members waited till 10 pm at night when they took to call police station and launch a complaint.

Not satisfied with the activeness of police in launching an investigation late night, Salman’s parents took themselves to find their son. The own-ones kept looking for Salman whole night until his body was spotted beneath a bamboo bush, on Thursday wee hours, two hundred meters away from his house.
The matter was informed to police on which Udharband Police Station OC Sanjeev Kumar Das and Additional District Superintendent of Police Jagdish Das rushed to the spot. The body was sent to Silchar Medical College for autopsy and was returned to the family after the process.

According to the Salman’s uncle Raju Sheikh, after Salman’s body was brought to Udharband Primary Health Center, there was no facility to keep the body in the hospital and his mother had to sit with Salman on her lap for a long time. “We demand a proper investigation on the case and immediate arrest of the perpetrator” he said to the media.
Meanwhile, former state minister Ajit Singh and MLA Mihir Kanti Shome visited the bereaved family and expressed anguish over the incident. Both demanded that those responsible for the incident be arrested soon.
