Sonai, Mar 16 : A massive fire broke out in South Krishnapur of Sonai around 6.30 pm on Tuesday. Till the drafting of the report, cooling process is still underway and another fire tender has arrived at the spot from Tarapur fire station.
It was learnt that, on Tuesday evening, an oil tanker kept in the house of one Nizam Uddin Majumdar, caught fire and later spread to their building. The intensity of the fire was of such an amount that the black smoke was visible from 1 km radius.
The locals gathered at the spot and called the fire brigade. Fire tenders from Rangirkhari and Sonai Fire service rushed to the spot and started the dousing.
Meanwhile no exact reason could be found of the blaze and no casualties have been reported in the incident. Traffic on the national highway had got choked, since a long time, due to the incident. Later, Rangirkhari police in-charge Pranab Kumar Deka with his forces made efforts to normalize the traffic jam.
