Silchar, Sep 20 : Minutes before leaving Silchar, after three days of stay at Silchar, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday briefed the media about all the developments that are scheduled in Cachar district in next few years.
Briefly what CM Said –
An all weather road to be constructed towards Bhuban Hill and further development of the region will follow thereafter. CM said that state government would develop BhubanTirtha as an important pilgrimage site having all amenities for pilgrims with active cooperation of the local people.
Kashpur Rajbari to be developed as prime tourist destination of Barak Valley. Sarma said the state government will take up a project on 100 bighas (25 acres) of land to preserve the heritage of the Dimasa Kachari kingdom and to make Khaspur into an attractive tourist destination.
Ring Road bypass to be completed before puja 2021. One portion of the road has been given to NHIDCL.
Regarding HPC, the CM said discussion is progressing very smoothly and government is optimistic that very soon an solution will be achieved.
On health infrastructure, CM Said a CATH lab and a 500 bedded hospital will be completed very shortly at SMCH and within next one year, the Cancer hospital will also be completed.
The Cachar DC office will be rebuilt and 50 crore have been earmarked for this. An integrated DC office will be built at a new location where all interlinked offices will be clubbed. This will free up government lands at Silchar town. Circuit house will also be shifted from the current place. Cachar DC has been asked to allot land in next 10 days.
The medical college road will be completed shortly. The department has been directed to complete the work of non disputed area on the earliest.
Ranghirkhari Flyover proposal will be rethinked and a Chief engineer of PWD will be sent here shortly to study the feasibility.
116 crore has been sanctioned for Mini secretariat and the work of which will start in full swing after this puja. CM said People of three districts – Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi- will also save time for their official works as they will not require to come to Guwahati for the same.
The chief minister further said that he will visit Barak Valley again next month and will decide the fate of Karimganj medical then. The CM further added that the proposal of allotment of land for a new green field airport at Silchar is being considered and discussed.
