Silchar, Nov 1 : School is the door to education, and education is the key to Nation Building. Every child has right to education and therefore is the responsibility of every government to provide it.
The Assam government has started construction work of 119 model high schools at tea garden areas today consisting of classrooms, teachers’ restrooms, separate toilets for Divyangs, girls and boys among others facilities.
Along with other locations, the foundation stone of a Model High School was also laid at the tea garden area of Haticherra GP under Barkhola Constituency in presence of Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy and Borkhola MLA Kishore Nath.
Addressing a gathering later, MP Rajdeep Roy termed the day historic as the proposed schools will give a huge impetus to the tea tribes community by providing them with quality education.
“Unlike the past governments, BJP believes in development and it is delivering what it committed. The construction work for the school building will begin from today and will be a boon for tea tribe students in getting quality education” Roy said.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also laid the foundation stone of a model high school at Mekipur tea garden in Sivasagar district whereas union minister Rameshwar Teli and State Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid foundation stones at Dibrugarh and Biswanath districts.
