Katigorah, Jun 2 : Just a day after heinous lynching of a doctor at a hospital of Hojai’s Lanka, similar incident was reported from Cachar district on Wednesday, after a health worker has launched complaint of interference and threatening by mob, while discharging their duty.

The incident occurred in Sindura tea garden of Cachar on Tuesday.

In this connection, four suspects have been arrested on Wednesday. The arrested have been identified as Babul Mahato, Bappan Teli, Madan Teli and Ajay Middha.

As per the FIR, the four miscreants misbehaved with the health care workers, who went to the tea estate for performing RAT and RTPCR testing. “They were of the view that health workers will falsely label few people as COVID positive and will take them” the complainant said.

The complaint was filed against the mob by one Dr. Suman Bhowmick with Kalain police officials.

“Two people tested positive during the testing and its their family members who created the chaos. They brought machete from home and threatened us to leave the space. We were rescued by the ‘Bhagan’ manager, who dropped us safely to the Kalain hospital” the health worker said.
