Karimganj DC evaluates school, inspects mid-day meal

Karimganj, May 13 : Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj, Mridul Yadav, on Thursday visited as an External Evaluator in 359 NO Sribhumi Vidyapith, Karimganj district and took stock of the school functionality, as part of the ongoing Gunoutsav.

Gunotsav is an effort of the Government of Assam to track the performance of every child in the elementary level, assess their individual learning gap and devise remedial measures to be taken for their improvement.

The students of the Sribhumi school were elated to find their deputy commissioner in the role of a teacher. DC Mridul Yadav also took a session of the students apart from interacting individually.

He also took a mid-day meal with students of the school and inspected its quality.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gunotsav could not be conducted for two years. This year, Gunotsav will be held in three phrases. The first phase of Gunotsav will be held from May 11 to May 14, second phase from May 23 to May 26 and the third phase from June 1 to June 4.

Talking to the media, DC said that students are learning well and he gave his best wishes for their future endeavors. “I checked the learning outcomes of the students as per the procedure of Gunoutsav. This is a good initiative of the Assam Government which will benefit the education scenario of the state” DC Yadav said.

He added that every student must receive a quality education that will enable their personality, talent and ability to live a full and satisfying life within society.
