Karimganj : Miscreants loot a house, later torches to fire before fleeing

Nilambazar, Sep 17 : In a sensational incident, that took place in Nilambazar of Karimganj district on Friday, burglars torched a house with the owner locked inside after looting the house of cash and jewelleries.

The incident has caused a panic over the area. A complaint has been launched at Nilambazar police station and accordingly three people have been reportedly arrested by the police.

It was learnt that, on Thursday late night, a group of miscreants broke into the house of one Kamal Uddin in Alamthani village and robbed the owner of jewellery and cash. As per complaint, the robbers looted cash of thirty thousand rupees.

Before fleeing the spot, the miscreants tied the Kamal Uddin in a chair and locked the house from outside before torching the house to fire. Seeing the fire to engulf them, the owner Kamal Uddin and other members of the house started to scream which alerted the neighbors.

The miscreants managed to escape till then. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued all the members. Kamal Uddin was shifted to Karimganj civil hospital with injuries.

Police was called immediately who swung to action and arrested three persons till early hours of Friday. The three have been identified as Sipon Ahmed (30), Samashul Haque (35) and Abdul Malik (45).
